In memoriam: José Benigno Zilli Mánica
 Tepatlaxco, Ver., 30 de junio de 1934 — Xalapa, Ver., 24 de noviembre del 2016. Hoy, 24 de noviembre, a las 8:30 hrs, el Padre Beni se durmió en el Señor, Sacerdote católico, Doctor en Filosofía, catedrático universitario, escritor, investigador, periodista y la mente mas brillante en el estado. Dejó su huella no solo desde el púlpito, sino también con su testimonio de vida y su enorme generosidad. Fue un gran intérprete del hombre contemporáneo. Hijo predilecto de Tepatlaxco, minúsculo pueblito situado en la zona centro del estado de Veracruz, junto a la montaña y a la orilla de la barranca del río Jamapa. Fue académico de la Universidad Veracruzana por mas de 50 años, fundador y director de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. Cursó las licenciaturas de Filosofía y Teología en la Universidad Gregoriana de Roma y obtuvo el doctorado en la Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms-Universitat, de Bonn, Alemania el 24 de febrero de 1960. Fue miembro de la Academia Mexicana de la Educación, A.C. Miembro de la Orden al Mérito de la República Italiana con el grado de “Cavaliere” entre otras tantas cosas. Entre sus libros de pueden citar, Introducción al estudio de los Conenbricenses, Italianos en México, Braceros italianos para México, Radar, ¡Llegan los colonos! entre otros tantos así como innumerables artículos en periódicos como Punto y Aparte, La Palabra. La colonia italiana radicada en Veracruz y Puebla principalmente, siempre recibió del Padre Beni su cariño y su tiempo. Gracias a él, muchos de los que formamos parte de la colonia italiana, sabemos de nuestras raíces gracias a la investigación que por mucho tiempo llevó a cabo y que publicó en su libro Italianos en México. En el imponente funeral celebrado en la Catedral de Xalapa, ceremonia presidida por el Arzobispo Sergio Obeso Rivera, amigo de Don Beni de toda la vida, en su emotiva homilía empezó mencionando que Benigno fue un Sacerdote Intelectual que Dios lo colmó de “talentos”, los cuales puso al servicio de la Iglesia, evangelizando en el ambiente más difícil que es entre los intelectuales. La Catedral estuvo colmada de fieles y amigos y de mas de un centenar de sacerdotes. Llega ante el Señor cargado de buenas obras. Ahora ya descansa de todas sus fatigas y dolores. |
